When one of our own falls victim to a sports injury or tragic accident, Jackson residents are known to rise to the occasion. By providing financial and emotional support, our town has developed the reputation of a close-knit and compassionate family.

When the unfortunate strikes, email chains, support networks, and fundraisers are swept into action faster than news travels around the valley.

On May 26, area resident Terre Brooks fell off a steep pitched roof while painting and suffered severe injuries. Brooks was flown to Eastern Idaho Medical Center in Idaho Falls for treatment. Updates on his condition are being posted by friends and family on this blog.

True to the community spirit, a fundraiser has been organized to rally friends for support and make a dent in the looming medical bills. The event will take place tonight at Cutty’s from 7-9 p.m. with live bluegrass. Donations may also be made on the Web site via Pay Pal to the “Benefit for Terre Brooks account” at First Interstate Bank in Jackson.
